The Krankenhaus Buchholz und Winsen gGmbH secured the support of the UCM for the process of certification of its quality management system according to DIN ISO 9001. Together the two facilities of the Lower Saxon corporation dispose of a total of 582 beds and treat approximately 23,000 in-patients per year. A quality management (QM) representative was appointed for both institutions and trained. This representative receives support from a QM steering committee consisting of employees from various areas. In numerous quality circles the internal processes were and are continuously analyzed and improved.
