Al-Shefa’a Medical City
Kuwait City, Kuwait
By order of the Commercial Real Estate Company (CRC), the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) prepared a feasibility study for a high-capacity hospital in Kuwait. Initially this led to the foundation of a prevention center: Similar to the Medical Prevention Center Hamburg, in which the UKE has a share, the hospital will offer a comprehensive four-hour medical examination - including a full-body magnetic resonance imaging scan - in a luxurious hotel environment. A five-year management contract was signed.
The building project has meanwhile been expanded by a 400-bed clinic, a hotel, and apartments to vreate Al-Shefa’a Medical City. The UKE developed the business plan. The contract with the investor stipulates the development of a building and operational concept, as well as the transfer of the management of the project to the UCM.
