The UCM was commissioned to assess and redesign the structural and strategic situation of the district hospital for Muri (Freiamt) in the context of a feasibility study.
The performance mandate of the Muri Hospital includes basic health care services for the population of the Freiamt in nine specialties. Last year, the hospital was able to increase its total number of patients by 7.3% to 25,108 cases, with a ratio of 6,504 inpatients (incl. 537 newborns) to 18,604 outpatients.
At a cost of CHF 60.4 million and a revenue of CHF 60.9 million the hospital achieved an operating profit of CHF 240,000 at the end of the last fiscal year (less the refunds to the canton). This represents a profit margin of approximately 0.5%.
