Typical Police Hospital
Sanaa, Yemen
The UCM has taken over the five-year management of a new police hospital in Sanaa, which was inaugurated in May 2009. The hospital is open to police employees and their relatives, as well as the general public. The management team consists of the business director and the medical director.
The range of medical services comprises general surgery, cardiac surgery, cardiology, orthopedics, internal medicine, oncology and neurology (including a specialist for stroke patients), emergency treatment, and intensive care. The agreement stipulates mutual trainee programs: UKE doctors and nurses are employed in Sanaa, and doctors from Yemen visit Hamburg for advanced training.
Due to political circumstances the project is temporarily suspended.
